The Cities of Ethiopia Mekelle
By John Graham
Addis Tribune:The Northern city of Mekelle is one of the most pleasant places to visit in Ethiopia. The people are nice, the streets are wide and good for walking. As a foreigner, one of the most pleasant things about visiting Mekelle is the lack of hassle from locals - there are no crowds following you, no calling out of ‘you, you’ or ‘money, money’. People very pleasantly leave you alone.

Absurdity and False Allegation
Solidarity Editorial "The Newspaper Weyin, the organ of the TPLF, run by people who are loyal to Meles Zenawi, continues its relentlessly mendacious attack against members of the TISJD. In today’s Ethiopia, it has become more evident that citizens are not allowed to think and have a political vision different from the leaders. The petty attack tactics directed against the persons of the dedicated Ethiopians fighting for Justice and democracy clearly indicate the regime's desperate attempt to continue discrediting and suppressing legitimate opposition. Such action is the result of deliberately crafted policy of the system in general and the abundantly exhibited ignorance of the lackeys of all kinds who have tied their existence with the undemocratic regime."

Reminiscence of the Zalambessa Tragedy
By Dr. Ghelawdewos Araia
EastAfricaForum.com:
Zalambessa for Ethiopians is a constant reminder of a besieged and destroyed town but also symbol of the triumph of the Ethiopian Defense Forces (EDF); for European, American, and other journalists, this town was a mere geographic entity disputed by Eritreans and Ethiopians although Eritreans never claimed it as part of their political map. For the inhabitants of the town, however, the mention of Zalmbessa evokes a lot of pain, for they are the vitims of the entire tragedy arrogantly flung on them by the Eritrean Peoples Liberation Front (EPLF) whose new name, the party for "democracy and justice," in fact manifests travesty of justice and a mockery on history.

The dilemma of the Tigrians
By Siraj Kahsay (October 04/2001)
"In the name of the people, TPLF leaders have established business companies. Those businesses seemingly represent economic progress that deceptively suggests to be benefiting the people of Tigray. The truth is to make those businesses operational, TPLF has been forcing Tigrians to work with little or no compensation. Those companies have been used as instruments of robbing the meager earnings of the people for the exclusive benefit of the few "liberators and revolutionaries" who have unscrupulously fattened their individual bank accounts. Strangely enough, those same companies, to the surprise of millions of Tigrians and a considerable number of non-Tigrians, have been generally eyed by non-Tigrians as a source of wealth and comfort of all Tigrians. Actually, some even went as far as satirizing "Tigray iskilema, lelaw ager yidma". Is this really the case?"...
"Such scholars have been unscrupulously engaged in vilifying one ethnic group as a whole: those scholars refer to Tigrians as un-Ethiopians, traitors, racists and even cancerous who simply deserve scissors of a social surgeon."...
