12 buses from Washington DC, 6 from Atlanta head toward New York City
WASHINGTON DC (Mar 19) - Ethiopians living in the United States would on March 25th
converge on New York City to protest to the United Nations that Ethiopia's legal and historical rights of sovereignty over its Red Sea coastal areas were deliberately being handed over by the regime in Ethiopia under the pretext of settling a "border conflict."

Border Ruling: can Ethiopians Expect Fairness from the UNSC?
By: Rev. Tom E. Guerra, Ph,D. (African Christian Center)
It is high time the international community listen to the cries of the Ethiopian people for justice against ill-meant colonial treaties. The colonialist motive was to suffocate Ethiopia by depriving it of access to its sea ports. Land-locked Ethiopia is a poor and weak nation that would depend on the mercy and mood of its hostile neighbors. For the UNSC to implement a ruling that would deprive Ethiopia of its sea access is highly immoral. As in the past, this time also Ethiopia and Ethiopians are awaiting justice from the representatives of the international community.
Resolutions Ethiopians in Boston say: "United We Stand!"
By An Ethiopian in Boston (March 8, 2002)
BOSTON MA (MARCH 11) - By standing firm against the tyrannical regime of Meles Zenawi, condemning its anti-Ethiopian stance and expressing their resolute to work hard to expose deliberate strangulation of Ethiopia through the on-going Hague Arbitration to demarcate the border between Ethiopia and Eritrea, Ethiopians in Boston made yet another proud History.

Ethiopian Archbishop appeals to Border Commission
Aba Melkesedek
Arch Bishop of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and Secretary General of the Synod in Exile
March 8, 2002 As a religious and knowledgeable man who knows the history and culture of Ethiopia, I caution the international community, especially the most Honorable Commission Members, not to repeat the shameful undertakings of the League of Nations that gave Ethiopia on golden plate to Benito Mussolini. If the Arbitration Commission accepts colonial treaties and false maps and comes to the conclusions of imposing unfair solutions on Ethiopia, these will be translated as the source of conflict and war, not only between Ethiopia and Eritrea, but also for the Horn of Africa.
Human Rights Developments in Ethiopia in 2001
World Human right watch
There was a marked deterioration of civil liberties in Ethiopia during 2001 in the wake of (and partially as a result of) the war with Eritrea. The government jailed civil rights advocates, political rivals, students, and journalists without formal charges, and police used lethal force against unarmed civilians.

Laws and Proclamations - EPRDFS' Style
By: Yonas (March 19, 2002)
After wasting ten years in power the EPRDF government is now telling us that it is in a "Sorry State!" and wants to start again! Positive expectation from this government is just a west of time which at best can only contribute in deflecting our attention from the main issues of lack of accountability, democracy and the Rule of Law in the country.
PALEOANTHROPOLOGY: Ethiopian Fossil Discovery Prunes Human Family Tree Scholars of human evolution have long debated just how many branches and twigs make up the human family tree. Some place the known human fossils into numerous genera and species, creating a bushy tree. Others tend to see more similarities between fossils and opt for trees with fewer offshoots. Now newly described fossils from Ethiopia indicate that for at least one part of the human pedigree, less is more.

A radical Democratic Ethiopia Personality

Whereas Classical Ethiopian personality specialized in mastering military strategies of defending sovereignty, little attention was paid to enlightening the nation by freeing the individual from tutelage to tradition and high priests.
March 25th: Day of Reckoning
By Prof. Tecola W. Hagos (March 18, 2002)
On 25 March 2002 we too are going to draw a line not in the sand but on the concrete and asphalt of New York City. History is our witness. We are giving the world community a clear notice that we are not responsible for all the conflict that most certainly would follow if the United Nation persists in its misguided and illegal course of action to dismember and choke us from our historic coastal territories, and deny the rights of our brothers and sisters to their citizenship and ancestral homes.

The economic impact of being landlocked
By Habte G. Woldu, Ph.D (March 16, 2002)
The whole fake idea of helping Djibouti and Sudan to modernize their ports so that they could "accommodate Ethiopian import and export needs" is a mockery to the Ethiopian people, especially to those who have been involved in import and export business. The only rational explanation for such suggestion is to believe that such concept is thrown up in the air to silence the protest of Ethiopians until Eritrea legalizes its Meles-promoted boundaries.
