In some parts of the country, farmers who have been unable to meet the repayments on money borrowed for improved seeds and fertilisers have been jailed. What Is The Purpose Of Alemseged's Tour? Who Is The Sponsor Of His Tour?
By Getachew Reda (July 02, 2002)
Let me begin to support my view with Professor Tecola W.Hagos's quotation. "There is nothing worse than to live a life in fear of another human being, I will always needle Ethiopian leaders, I will be a thorn in their side; criticizing, even insulting them whenever I see injustice, despotic behavior and anti democratic and anti people tendencies. I have tremendous faith and respect for the simple men and women of Ethiopia. I believe there will come a day when citizens of Ethiopia will live all fair right, and need my help least."
TRYING TIMES FOR THE MELES REGIME
By Tsegay Gebriye (Julu 02, 2002)
The Meles region seems to have turned a deaf ear to the unpalatable news that its request for "interpretation, correction and consultation" to the EEBC decision of April 13, 2002 has been consigned to the dustbin. The likes of Walta Information center and Bereket Simon, the mouthpieces of the regime have not yet tried to offer their usual distorted interpretations to convince the Ethiopian people not to accept the truth.
How do you win against those who seek death?
By Dr. G. Bekele
What is the question now? How do you debate with people who do not want to argue about the quality of life for our people and our sovereignty except insofar as it is a preparation for a glorious death? How do you protect yourself, your nation and your country from people who are not only prepared to die (as all fighting armies must be), but who also actually wish to do so; who see death itself as the ultimate goal? What kind of battle is this? This is simply ludicrous - a form of contagious murderous insanity financed by the "West" and driven by the "Devil." God have Mercy on Ethiopia!

Urgent Message from Deki-Alula
An individual who later unfolded himself as a victim of the disastrous TPLF legacy of "destroy what others build" had tried to steal Deki-Alula. His enormous suffering was to bring back the destructive legacy of TPLF. How? By painting a rosy picture of the so-called TPLF dissidents as though our memory is gone and could not remember who were those responsible for carrying Eritrean agents for 27 years. They thought they would make angels out of the deciples of the enemies of Ethiopia! Deki-Alula - a site which strives to promote the shared ideals and values of the Ethiopian people - would temporarily stay here at our old site - until we notify our visitors about our next step.

'Punishing' Developing countries! The hypocrisy of Western Democracies
By: Tseggai Mebrahtu
Western European leaders have been discussing ways best suited to stop illegal immigration from developing countries. To this end, they have come out with a proposal aiming to ‘punish’ developing countries responsible for illegal immigration. Although such a measure is reported to be dividing member countries of the European Union, the fact that it has been the subject of discussion is something which cannot leave nationals of developing countries indifferent. The interesting thing here is that the whole western attitude towards the immigration issue is full of contradictions.

TWO FLAGS ONE MUDDLE
Tsegay Gebriye of London Are you in the muddle too? He Is

BY: Dr. G Bekele (20 June 2002) [word format]
He’s a man of great common sense and good taste - meaning thereby a man without originality or moral courage. "I have just read your second lousy comments buried in the back pages of Tigrai Net. You sound like a frustrated old man who never made a success, an eight-ulcer man on a four-ulcer job, and all four ulcers working. I have never met you, but if I do you’ll need a new nose and plenty of beefsteak and perhaps a supporter below". Would you fancy that as a starter for your last supper?
OUR LEADERS' DEEDS ARE MORE WORRYING THAN THEIR LOOKS
By Tsegay Gebriye (June 19, 2002)
I don't like to dwell on an issue that I thought had been settled. But, Mr.Getachew Reda after his "moving thought on Dr. Bekele's article" has taken the matter further in his article "As There is No limit to Praise Our Saints of The Sky, There is no Limit As Well For Bashing & cursing The Devil of Earth Either! (This Is A Respond To That Fraudulent Fragrant pen)".
"A FLAWED PHILOSOPHY"
A.G. Tsegay’s attempt to marry compassion and meritocracy, is doomed to fail. In response to A.G. Tsegay’s (16/06/02) attack on Tigrai Org. and My Article, "Beat the Evil Forces and the Future is yours"

By: Dr. G Bekele (18 June, 2002)
I have read your Article “Meles Bashing” on Tigrai Net while millions who follow the dedicated Ethiopian web sites like Tigrai Net were left rubbing their eyes in sheer disbelief. I honestly admire your “compassion”, “meritocracy” “fear” and your “Political Correctness”. But what I refuse to agree with you and fear is, if we use your methods of “wait and see” to fully materialize, the fate of our country will be death. Therefore, we will have “waited too long” and then nothing will be left in our country and in particular Tigrai but ashes, dust, dead bodies and Shaebia to again loot our country and control our affairs. You wouldn’t like these to happen to the beautiful and historical Tigrai or in general our country Ethiopia. Would you?
Wedi Dejach-Gerelasse or Wedi-Alula Aba-Nega? Divie and Rule The Mark of The Eritrean Beast A Response to Mr. Haileselassie Girmay
By Eyrusalem Beirhu
I find it appropriate to begin my say by foot noting my heading: Dejach Gerelasse is an Adwan governer who sold Tesene to the Italyans for a riffle, folow suited by Meles Zenawi who also comes from a line of a traitor an ascari, whose sole objective is to defend the ascaries at the expense of Ethiopia. Alula Aba-Nega, in the contrary is an Ethiopian Hero who successfully fought and defeated all enemies of Ethiopia in defense of his country.
As there is no limit to Praise our Saints of the sky, There is no limit as well for Bashing & cursing the Devil of Earth Either! (This is a respond to that Fraudulent Fragrant pen)
By Getachew Reda
A formidable enemy (Banda) stands before us, and we must overthrow him. To do this, everything is recommended including BASHING and TRASHING. The top Bandas and the thick skinned Sheepish, and his shallow roots may have difficulty understanding what is taking place at this moment in Ethiopia under the Bandit government of Meles. There are cadres or confuse elements who they felt chilly & shivering, any time we trash and bash Meles.
Meles bashing "must read article"
By A.G. Tsegay (June 16, 2002)
I have read the acrimonious article by Dr. G. Bekele. The level of denigration, bad language and cynicism aside, Dr Bekele's article lacks originality and amounts to nothing more than statement of grievances already aired by many Ethiopians. I understand that Dr. Bekele is entitled to express his views concerning the state of his country. What I don't understand is what criteria Tgrai.org has employed to elevate this article to a status of "must read".

“He” either miscalculated a failure of Judgment – or – he – underestimated the Ethiopian people – a failure of Leadership.
By: Dr. G Bekele (12 June 2002)
[word format click here]
“They are accursed in heaven and on earth … a catastrophe for the human race … They are the virus of the generation … They are the plaque of the generation and the bacterium of all time … Their history was and always will be stained with treachery, treason, falseness and lying … They are a model of debasement and degradation”. “They” of course are; Meles Zenawi and his cronies whom we all routinely recognize through the excoriating language of their enemies; the Ethiopian people.

ERITREA- MELES's PREDATOR
By: Atnafseged (June 8, 2002)
It seems to me most strange why Meles, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia is going to great lengths to appease Eritrea at the expense of Ethiopia in general and the Tigrean Ethiopians in particular. Does he realize that this is contrary to the best interest of Ethiopia of which he is a leader and that he is ruining his political career by acting JESUS for the Eritreans.
Seyoum Mesfin warns Legwaila that UNMEE should not rush before Ethiopia is finished off through "legal" demarcation (Text in Amharic)

Abiy Araya: Wogatha's Senior Staff Writer: "The document (minutes) reveals Seyoum Mesfin - Zenawi's Eritrea-related political mouthpiece - arguing with Joseph Legwaila that UNMEE should not publicize Eritrea's victory before Ethiopian territories are legally finished off and handed over to Asmara. This approach, Seyoum argues, would leave no room for Ethiopians to hold the Meles Zenawi regime accountable for any act."
THE HAGUE’S BORDER DELIMITATION RULING BETWEEN ERITREA AND ETHIOPIA:
A NEW ALARMING PROBLEM FOR THE IROB PEOPLE
(A Statement & Appeal Addressed to the International Community)
By Rev. Tesfamariam Baraki (An Irob-Ethio-American Citizen):June, 2002
As expected, on April 13, 2002, the UN Boundary Commission in The Hague unscrupulously pronounced its binding verdict on the demarcation of disputed borders between Eritrea and Ethiopia. Although the endeavor of adjudication by the members of the Commission was commendable, the method employed in reaching and making this binding ruling was not justifiable.
Ethiopian Wars: The Battle Of Clones [Great analysis - must read]
By Beniam (June 03, 2002)
Writing towards the end of 1987, Edmond Keller states that "Ethiopia today is characterized by dependent autonomy; the state’s ability for autonomous behavior is often circumscribed by its external dependence. Even if it was to solve the "national question," it would still be extremely dependent on external assistance…" This was said of the Derge regime during the final days of the cold war.
