In Defence of EthiopiaThe February 2002 verdict in the Hague By Samuel Fasika "Indeed it has. That is why they both look forward for the month of February 2002 as an expectant couple. It will be the birth of a full-fledged nation called Eritrea that was in the making by Mr Issayas and Ato Meles group for the last thirty years. In Ethiopia it will be remembered as a day of infamy, of betrayal by those in power, and a day when a poisonous seed for further destruction is planted." "The Meles leadership has proved that it won't rest until the demarcation delimitation process is resolved in favour of Issayas. It does not even seem to care about its survival as a government once this task is fulfilled." Speak now or forever hold your peace!By S. Tafesse (December 20, 2001)
"Beyond any reasonable doubt, the Meles leadership has proved that it won't rest until the demarcation delimitation process is resolved in favour of Issayas. It does not even seem to care about its survival as a government once this task is fulfilled."

Paying lip-service to democracyBy Amaha Belay (December 14, 2001) "Many people had given their dear lives so that the citizens of this country would enjoy the opportunity to exercise their basic human rights without any intimidation, imprisonment, persecution and execution. Many people had the vision that in place of the dictators whether imperial or military would come an accountable, responsible, transparent and participatory system. All the above wishes and dreams have been demolished by the government of Meles Zenawi.

Ethiopia at Stake: The crime being plotted behind the official newsBy Gebrehiwot Baikedagne "All said, Ethiopia is at stake. There is no difference between Prime Minister Meles and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki but one. As Isaias loves to death to establish himself as an undisputed regional power through the use of force and build Eritrea at Ethiopia's expense, Meles strives to consolidate Eritrean sovereignty by resorting to more subtle ways of fragmenting and weakening Ethiopia while holding a firm grip on power by means of the gun."
Opposition a Blessing to EthiopiaBy Berhane Gidey "Let me to start with go to some vile and vulgar articles, which appeared on some Websites, whose ulterior motives were nothing more than creating confusion and putting wedge among the people of Tigray. They were formulated in an obsolete and clumsy way that one can ignore them without any reply or notice as flimsy arguments."... "The prime objective of these people is to disrupt the unity of people so that we get caught in a small-village-mental-malady and forget the bigger cause-the cause to fight tyranny and dictatorship. Those who are day and night fighting to expose the undemocratic rule of Meles and his henchmen organized or otherwise, don’t feel discouraged and never give up. Opposition to dictators has never been tolerated in the history of mankind and is a welcome blessing to Ethiopia." ![]() Editorial Notice: Dear Ethiopians! TISJD calls on all Ethiopians to save nation from border demarcation scandal "The Ethiopians are proud of their three thousand years of independence since King Ethiopius built the obelisks at Axum in 1050 B.C., they have succeeded in repelling invasions over centuries that produced an African consciousness - that is cemented even today. The Eritreans on other hand are proud of their subjugation by the Italians. The Ethiopians are proud of their country that was ancient in the days of King Solomon and Queen Sheba, that was Christian centuries before Emperor Constantine accepted Christianity, that its empire at one time included the whole of Arabian peninsula and even the pharaohs of Egypt. The Eritreans, well, you guessed it. While most Africans went a long way to erase the influence of European colonialism, the Eritreans adopted most of them; their use of European calendar and European way of telling time are testimonies. One wonders why they keep speaking an Ethiopian language (Tigrigna) and use Ethiopian alphabet? Maybe that's next to go?" Anatomy of a Conflict: The Prognosis By Ian James and Dr. Simon Cohen. "From the mid-1930's, a combination of three factors further contributed towards tthe evolution of what might be called 'Eritrean consciousness'. The first was the growing racist ideology which began to draw a distinction between the Eritreans who were fortunate enough to be under the civilizing umbrella of Italy and the inhabitants of the Ethiopian empire." (Pollera, 1935, Negash 1987)."The Origin of Eritrean Psychological Confusion |
