Wogahta Newspaper Shut Down, Hunt for Chief Editor Continues in Addis
By Gebrehiwot Baikedagne

ADDIS ABABA, DEC 20 (Deki-Alula) - Prime Minister Meles Zenawi has all the country's giant media outlets under his control. The TV and Radio stations, all state-controlled, are geared to beefing up his ruinous rule. But this mountain machinery of media trivia feels it's being rocked to its foundations by one private weekly newspaper - Wogahta - for which the regime has set itself to destroying the newspaper and staff.

Paying lip-service to democracy
By Amaha Belay (December 14, 2001)
"Many people had given their dear lives so that the citizens of this country would enjoy the opportunity to exercise their basic human rights without any intimidation, imprisonment, persecution and execution. Many people had the vision that in place of the dictators whether imperial or military would come an accountable, responsible, transparent and participatory system. All the above wishes and dreams have been demolished by the government of Meles Zenawi.

Ethiopia at Stake: The crime being plotted behind the official news
By Gebrehiwot Baikedagne
"All said, Ethiopia is at stake. There is no difference between Prime Minister Meles and Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki but one. As Isaias loves to death to establish himself as an undisputed regional power through the use of force and build Eritrea at Ethiopia's expense, Meles strives to consolidate Eritrean sovereignty by resorting to more subtle ways of fragmenting and weakening Ethiopia while holding a firm grip on power by means of the gun."
Opposition a Blessing to Ethiopia
By Berhane Gidey
"Let me to start with go to some vile and vulgar articles, which appeared on some Websites, whose ulterior motives were nothing more than creating confusion and putting wedge among the people of Tigray. They were formulated in an obsolete and clumsy way that one can ignore them without any reply or notice as flimsy arguments."...
"The prime objective of these people is to disrupt the unity of people so that we get caught in a small-village-mental-malady and forget the bigger cause-the cause to fight tyranny and dictatorship. Those who are day and night fighting to expose the undemocratic rule of Meles and his henchmen organized or otherwise, don’t feel discouraged and never give up. Opposition to dictators has never been tolerated in the history of mankind and is a welcome blessing to Ethiopia."

Tigrai.net members express their deep sorrow in memory of all those who perished; the passengers and the pilots on the United and American flights, the workers in the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and all the innocent victims. Our prayers go out to the friends and families of the deceased.
GOD BLESS AMERICA and the freedom it represents.
We will not let a few cowards steal our freedom.
