CRISIS IN DIASPORA AND ROLL OF WEB SITES Tezera Asegu
The divisive agenda of some individuals in the Diaspora Some of the hooligans in the Diaspora are becoming wacky. They are fond of highlighting minute tribulations and are not happy to see the reconciliation to come about. I think their hate doting websites would not be inexistence, if the situation resolved peacefully. They start to avert the stance of Ethiopian’s on the millennium celebration and call for demo against this noble errand. They are misusing and abusing the moral code of western democracy. They are going up and down relentlessly to create confusion and deny the Diaspora’s peace of mind. There action is rundown and looking a way out from their collapse. What a shame!! They are flattening our pride. They are running desperately to recapture the attention of the Diaspora with different unscrupulous agenda. These individuals are bits and pieces of the last regime. Shame on them!!! They had better invigorate their mind and analyze the ups and downs realistically, rather than propagating hostility on their hate and roamer yearning websites, residing across the ocean. They have a coward and doomed mentality with no remorse and filled with false pride, as their step footer to their master, Mengistu Hilemariam. These haughty individuals do erroneously pile accusation and defamation on those, who positively comments on the current situation. We are determined to squash their chauvinist and dogmatic perception in a very civilized way. These tormentors and the fate of their followers reckon themselves as human right activists and classy from the blue. They also spurn the recent struggle and consider the victory, as the outcome of one ethnic group, but it is the upshot and the relentless struggle of all ethnic groups of Ethiopians. They hold a much tapered approach and disgrace the gross struggle of all Ethiopians through out history till to the present time. The gross Human right violation by the so called pro -opposition websites. Human rights refer to the concept of human beings as having universal rights, or status, regardless of legal sway, like wise other localizing factors, as ethnicity and nationality. Human beings are entitled, the right to life and liberty, freedom of thought and expression according to international and conventional rights. Individual rights represent the moral rights of persons in society to government. It encompasses freedom from surveillance, personal privacy, anonymity, thinking, speech and association. Ethiopia is a signatory state to these conventions and declarations. The so-called Diaspora websites are not operating in consistent way to their objectives. They are not respecting these declarations; rather they disseminate false accusation, lie, insults, defamation and do surveillance on their fellow people. I am copying and pasting here, what one of the so-called Diaspora London based Addis voice website editor sham accusations and defamations. I obliged to air his sinister insult for public judgment, even though the writing has lack of coherence and full of syntax errors.
This coward is a man who appointed him self, as the London based human rights activist with out public consent and running a web site to propagate hostility , false allegations and defamations. He and the like treat their fellow people in such a way in a foreign land and most of their claims are false, expressly stated or implied to be factual. I think they are mad dogs who attack every one. We recommend them either to get help or abandoned. Such pro opposition websites in the Diaspora extraordinarily do censorship on the document they receive and treat the readers and contributors partially as they used to do during their era. On the contrary they accuse the prevailing Ethiopian government, as breaching human rights; which is absurd. Such narrow minded individuals in the Diaspora interfere on individual privacy, family, work, home and correspondences, which is a sham to operate in such a way in the modern world. Due to the fact that; if they grab power, it is easy to imagine, it would be more disasters to our freedom and rights. I don’t dwell my self on criticizing such individuals who are in delusion, for it is unethical and awful to act like them. Such individuals’ like to see the country torn apart, unless they get away to share or clinch power. Our Profound History and the need to adhere to it Ethiopia is the oldest independent country in Africa and one of the oldest in the world, at around 3000 years old. Herodotus- the Greek historian of the fifth century B.C. - gave a witness and depicts ancient Ethiopia in his script. Ethiopia is a mosaic of nations and nationalities. More than 80 ethnic groups live in harmony and 70 different languages are spoken. This diversity bestows the country a shiny color and strength. Ethiopia is the only African country with her own scripts. It is a privilege to possess unique literature and impressive scrolls. Ethiopia is a multi denominational country, where every religion has a right to practice its belief without restriction. Ethiopia is the gateway of civilization and the place where the first human descendant came in to being. These are some of our profound inherited cultural values that we hold on to throughout history and that we are proud of in present times. We defended our selves from foreign invasions and ordeals of colonialism without the intrusion of other foreign forces. It was effective and fruitful as history records it. We must not kneel down to such chauvinists and ego centric that follow the foot step of their foster parents in the Diaspora, who tried to wipe out our heroic traits and turn our people to follow the demeanor of some other nations. We must strengthen our integrity and inherited bravery, rather than crowding the street of western countries for senseless demonstrations and hunger strike. As a matter of urgency, we urge those brothers in the Diaspora to refrain from such dread. We should put more trust on resolving our minor tribulations through the mediation of our elderly and prominent people. This is one of our inherited cultural values that we acquire from our ancestors. It is enough for all Ethiopians in the Diaspora to say no for those who are in a row to destroy our endurance and moral duty. It is a shame for those deviants in the Diaspora, who sniff our minute problems and difficulties to highlight on the street of western countries, for such unusual drift considered by international institutions and states as a trumped-up story and renders them a deaf ear and blind eyes. The so called Diaspora oppositions and websites have to think beyond narrow party interest. To begin with; it is tough for civic institutions and opposition parties to achieve their objective while residing across the ocean, for it is beyond their reach to accesses and track the country’s day to day phenomenon. Due to the lack of first hand information and certain limitations a huge fallacy, misunderstanding, and a wrong discernment is happening in the aforementioned Diaspora opposition parties and their websites. Therefore; to pave the way for peace and reconciliation, we must handle our problems with open hearted and unprejudiced comportment in our own way. This approach helps all the Diaspora to function objectively, not to walk blindly and emotionally. To achieve certain objectives and for the betterment of our people; the Diaspora should contribute its own part with out constraint; rather than riding the wrong horse on the wrong road. It is an enormous task to lead a country that is historically & culturally strong and large like Ethiopia. The opposition and their websites should start to walk on the gravel road, rather than running desperately to clench power. Finally, the Diaspora has to try their up most for a change beyond narrow party interests. We need to hear each other and handle the situation in a very civilized, dignified and proper way. Concluding Remarks
OUR HEARTS AND MINDS MUST ALWAYES CRAVE TO BUILD A UNITED ETHIOPIA. Tezera Asegu. |
