Clarification of Calling for Unity
Few days ago, The Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association have posted a letter calling for Unity. After we received several comments from different people, We find it necessary to clarify what we meant by "calling for unity". The call for unity was not intended to dismantle all the existing Alumni Associations and create one body for all. Instead, it was intended for all the Alumni Associations to gather together in three or five years and host a general fund-raising night that will be used for a mutual project in Tigrai. The purpose of this idea is to create a common ground for all tigrians to work together, to strengthen our unity, and to exchange ideas & experiences among all of us. Therefore, the Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association wanted to make it clear for every body that Our "call for unity" is just for all Alumni Associations to have an occasion together to show our unity and to help our region. Thank you, Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association Calling for Unity The Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association had celebrated its 2nd anniversary on July 16, 2005 in Washington,DC. The celebration was very successful and fruitful. For more details of the Awlaelo Night and its annul meeting, please visit www.awlaelo.org Among other things, the Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association had expressed its readiness and openness to work with all Alumni Associations and non-political Developmental organizations that are intended to help the Development of Tigrai as well as Ethiopia. The Alumni Association have also called up on all Tigrians to work together and to strengthen our unity by creating a common ground that will bring all the Alumni Associations and non-political Developmental Organizations of Tigrai together. It is good that we are organized under the Alumni Associations and Developmental Organizations to help our schools and our cities, but it would be better if we go beyond that and create a bigger picture as one people and one region to help our country. This is the message that Awlaelo Schools Alumni Association wants to convey and its members are promised to work to together for its practicality.
