To All Ethiopians in North America – A call for a public meeting on the boundary issue
(April 8, 2003)

Our country is facing the gravest challenge yet as her sovereignty has now been up for sale as clearly demonstrated by the Boundary Commission’s testimonials. The Commission has in no uncertain terms displayed for all to see in its 11-page explanation released on March 21, 2003 that the reason why Ethiopia became a loser in the territorial dispute was because “leaders of Ethiopia submitted as documents and maps” ended up justifying Eritrea’s claim.

Over the last two years, Solidarity has warned the so-called Algiers Agreement was nothing but a document Eritreans within and without Ethiopia wrote to dismember Ethiopia and benefit Eritrea. Now, the Boundary Commission (EEBC) set up to legitimize the above document has spoken in unequivocal language that Ethiopian sovereign territories had indeed been ceded to Eritrea under dubious circumstances. No Ethiopian can afford to sit on the fence and be a mere spectator when a crime of unspeakable degree is being committed against ones of own country. To discuss why measures should be taken to thwart any activity by the disguised Eritrean agents in power in Ethiopia, Solidarity has organized an urgent meeting.

Purpose:
§ Discuss the latest developments - Experts will make presentations.
§ Ethiopians who come from the Ethiopia-Eritrea border towns would present eyewitness accounts. The damage incurred by the local populace, the after-effects of the war and destruction, as well as border demarcation repercussions would be addressed;
§ Ways and means of strengthening the people’s fight against the masked agents, as well as the significance of contribution from Solidarity and other fellow sister civic associations toward the common struggle of saving our Motherland from the enemy within;
§ Map out a united action

Speakers:
1. The Honorable Ato Belai Abai
2. Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, Foreign Relations Representative in North America – Afar Revolutionary Democratic Unity Front (ARDUF)
3. Name to be announced soon.

Place: Unification Church, 16 and Columbia Rd., Washington, D. C., NW.
Date: 19 April 2003
Time: 1:00 PM
Come and show your solidarity with your motherland.
A United and Democratic Ethiopia shall prevail
