The Ethio-Eritrean boarder crisis

(Dec 27, 2003) This problem started when the so called Eritrean Liberation Front (EPLF) aggressed and occupied vast mineral and agricultural rich territories in Northern Ethiopia in 1998. Needless to say, the EPLF Were dislodged from our land in a record breaking lightening time when they refused to withdraw peacefully. They boasted that they were the regional power and boasted they would march to Addis Ababa after defeating the Ethiopian army. But no sooner did the war started than they started sending S.O.S. to the world and retreated in disarray. The Western countries conveniently like to call these territories “a piece of rocky strip of land”, and they blame us Ethiopians why we fight over according to them,“ useless rock”. Ironically, they are (the EU) nagging Ethiopia to hand over this land to the EPLF threatening to cut AID otherwise according to Mr. richelle Koos. So why can’t Mr. Koos tell the EPLF that they don’t need this rock and advice them to rest in piece instead of trying to risk another war in which PM Meles of Ethiopia will not be allowed to save them this time around like he did in the last war. Mr. Koos is advised to save his friends from total disaster if they insist to get this land which is not theirs or start another war again. In Shakespeer’s play as you know Mr. Koos, but as this is also for the consumption of others “The merchant of Venice” a rich man called Shylock lent money to a merchant some money. They signed a contract in which Shylock would take one pound of flesh from the merchant’s heart if the merchant did not return the money in the agreed time. The uninitiated merchant signed this agreement perhaps in good faith (in bona feed) thinking shylock would not kill him in trying to get that pound of flesh from his heart. The merchant did not put the matter in his pipe and smoke it. Because at the end of the day the merchant could not return the money on time and Shylock truly wanted the pound of flesh. Luckily, the contract did not mention that blood would be shed in the process of taking the pound of flesh. So, the merchant’s smart lawyer used this loop whole and told Shylock to take the pound of flesh without shedding even a speck of blood as the contract does not allow. Need less to say Shylock shied away. Though Ethiopia won the war against Aggression and occupied almost the whole of the so called Eritrea, and though it was a fet accompli, our leaders could have demanded unconditional surrender, and though our leaders could have made a regime change and established peace with a responsible and friendly government, they foolishly agreed too be dragged to The Hague and agreed to accept any ruling as final and binding. They gave the victory to the EPLF!! They shamed our great and proud country. Now they are in a labyrinth like the case of Shylock and the merchant of Venice. Why did they commit this treacherous act? Could it be in good faith (Bona feed) or sheer treachery? It is hard for me to believe that this is treachery though others really believe it is treachery. It will soon be disclosed whether or not they say “ YES or NO” to Mr. Koos who is intent on rewarding our land to his friends in Asmara using AID HANDOUT as weapon. A kind of weapon used for children to persuade them to do something. Now, Mr. Koos are the Ethiopian leaders children? Will you try to persuade them to decimate their own people using your AID HANDOUT as a weapon? Now, Mr. koos perhaps the EEBC people don’t know the facts on the ground or knowing they don’t care about the Ethiopians there on the ground like yourself. Who are the people on the ground? Where were they since time in memorial? Where do they want to be? Under what country do they want to be? Mr. Koos do some research before you smear yourself like the EEBC who have been proven to be venal. Now Mr. Koos, inevitably Shylock could not take that pound of flesh because it meant shedding a human blood and eventually kill him. In the same token you cannot take the Ethiopian lands unless you decimate the thousands of Ethiopians there on the ground that have been living there since time in memorial. You know that Ethiopia has been a nation for thousands of years like the Middle Eastern countries and you have to understand that the Ethiopians you want to decimate have been there for thousands of years. The crux of the matter is Mr. koos that the Ethiopians there have made it abundantly clear time and time again that they shall never leave their land and that they will fight to last drop of blood any force either from Eritrea or Ethiopia and Ethiopians from all parts of Ethiopia have promised to come to their aid. This will herald the demise of the present Ethiopian regime and other leaders from the opposition are lurking for this scenario to take place to take over power. This will also herald the demise of the EPLF regime and Ethiopia and Eritrea will be united for good if Mr. Koos insists. This is manifest destiny. So, Mr. Koos, never will you get Bademe and environments but you will also loose Eritrea. Don’t underestimate the people’s power Mr. Koos. And mind you, blood will not be shed as in your wishful thinking. It will be done smoothly. Help from without enfeebles. Help from within invariably invigorates. |
