Of course TPLF was anti Ethiopia!!! (Response to H. Abadi July 1, 2002 )By H. Asmerom I have read the commentary by H. Abadi " TPLF was not anti-Ethiopia" and I would like to air my view. I have few comments to make on the above commentary. First of all there is no need to fool Ethiopians by portraying TPLF as Ethiopian Liberator. TPLF was born not because of "the social cleavages prevalent in Ethiopia", but was created by EPLF to disintegrate Ethiopia by opening another war front in Tigray, and to engage the Ethiopian army in many fronts. If you can argue that they fought to liberate Tigray (which I doubt it) may be I will agree. But how can you say TPLF is Ethiopian when they fought to create separate Tigrayn State, then disintegrate Ethiopia. You said as many as 60,000 lives are lost for the cause of TPLE. What was the final result my brother? Creating independent Eritrea, Dividing Ethiopians along tribal lines and creating war between them, Looting Ethiopian nation. I am sorry for them, because they have been misguided. If they were fighting for Ethiopia why they wiped out pan-Ethiopian parties like EPRP and EDU from Tigray? Are they serving Ethiopian interest or Eritrean? As you said there are many ethnic parties in Ethiopia. But these parties were created and funded by TPLF and Shabiya, to disintegrate Ethiopia. All ethnic parties, who are advocating for separation of their tribe, are anti-Ethiopian. If they are not tribalists and nationalists they can join pan-Ethio parties to fight for Ethiopians regardless of their tribal origin. If you can't renounce your sympathy for TPLF you will be regarded as TPLF. We should accept that TPLF was and now anti Ethiopian force and we need to consolidate our effort to dismantle it. Only then there will be a possibility for reconciliation between TPLF supporters and Ethiopians. This will apply to all ethnic based parties, which were created by TPLF including OLF. The Seye and Dissidents Case; Like may other Ethiopians I believe there is no difference between the Seye group and Meles group. They are all the enemies of Ethiopia and they will be tried in the same courtroom as Meles. We don't know what is the cause of their split. The dissident's say they and Meles had deference's concerning Eritrean issue and our sovereignty. How can we be sure that, these words are not Seyae's words in order to win our sympathy? They didn't even publish their TPLF split manifesto in Amharic (they published in English and Tigriya). Are they appealing to Ethiopian people or Tigrayan and English people? Poor Ethiopians waited for weeks to understand the cause of split and yet they claim they are fighting for Ethiopian interests. I am not saying that Amharic is the only Ethiopian language. But as a nation with many tribes our common language is Amharic. But instead of telling us in a language, which we all understand we have waited a week to get translated version from English version. May be the author of that manifesto was H. Abadi him self, because he argues that many of our problems are caused because we can't use our tribal languages. May be you can stop speaking Amharic and start communicating in English, if that will cure you tribalist mentality. You are mobilising tegarus to resurrect the tribalist and chauvinist group to finish the unfinished business i.e.; disintegrating Ethiopia and ultimately making independent Eritrea viable state. True Ethiopians now what is your motivation. So stop fooling us. If you are true Ethiopian join pan-Ethiopian parties like EDP. The only thing I have learned from Seye and his brothers is this: If you are unemployed or you can't get material satisfaction, go to bush and start fighting and you will be millionaire in less than ten years. But if you work honestly for 25 years you can't afford to build small mud house. So the quick way to get rich is to invest a few Birr in Kalashnik of and you will be guaranteed return in millions in less than 10 years. Before you want to tell us about the "Ethiopian Hero" Seye and Co, ask this question to yourself or himself. 1. Who was the architect in disbanding the whole of Ethiopian Army, Navy and Airforce? 2. Who was a collaborator, when Shabiya shot unarmed Ethiopian soldiers and took their gold teeth to enhance Eritrean bank's gold reserve? 3. Who signed a deal with Eritrea to house Ethiopians in plastic shelters in the middle of maskal square? 4. Who looted the Ethiopian people wealth? 5. Who became a millionaire in less than five year after coming to power? 6. Whose brothers and sister became millionaires, because one of their brothers has a government position? If you can answer the above questions you would know who is the real enemy of Ethiopia. They are not Ethiopian heroes, because they have been sacked from their power by Meles. Their early downfall is good news for mother Ethiopia, but make no mistake Meles will follow soon. The dissidents even didn't apologise to Ethiopian people for their crimes against our nation. If they need to clear their mind for the crime, they have to confess before the nation. We need Mandela style "Truth and Reconciliation council", where the nation's enemies confess their past crimes to end the cycle of violence and revenge once and for all.
