By Kindeya Berhane (April 18, 2003) Con Coughlin, while introducing Saddam to his readers of his book said "writing a biography of Saddam Hussein is like trying to assemble the prosecution case against a notorious criminal gangster." Similarly, assembling the background of Solomon Inquai is a complex enterprise in its totality. http://mysite.freeserve.com/geez_unicode/index.html http://messenger.msn.com/ Happy Instant Messaging (By Tsegay Gebriye) [Here Tigrai_net would like to thank Mr. Tsegay for providing this greatest Geez Unicode Software to give an open, free alternative a try. In this Special Report, ... Dates for the conference : Wednesday 29th October - 1st November 2003 By Berhane Habte-Mariam (04/11/03) It is over two years since the guns became silent, after the previous two years’ war between Ethiopia and its problematic neighbour, Eritrea. It is generally believed that almost a hundred thousand combatants died from both sides before the war ended with Ethiopian as the "victor". Badme, the village, which was initially invaded by the Eritrean army and which was after unimaginable bloodshed taken back by Ethiopia, then became synonymous with Adwa, the location of the first comprehensive victory achieved by Ethiopia over the Italian colonialists in 1896. [Source: Addis Tribune] ![]() Photo:Ethiopian flag flies at Badime, March 1999 By A. G.Medhin (April 10, 2003) It is obviously clear that Ethiopia does not have competent, patriotic and courageous leaders to protect its interest against wide range of historical and very determined enemies. Thanks to the current leadership, Ethiopia once considered untouchable and respected in the arena of diplomacy has become a playground of third-rate minds of the international kind. Place: Unification Church, 16 and Columbia Rd., Washington, D. C., NW. Date: 19 April 2003 Time: 1:00 PM Tigrean International Solidarity for Justice and Democracy (TISJD) By Asghedom Ghebremichael "In Ethiopia’s modern history, December 12, 2000 will occupy a very important chapter. This is the day when Ethiopian military, political, and economic victories that would have reaffirmed Ethiopia’s glorious history and ushered regional peace and stability, were aborted. Despite its humiliating defeats at all battle fields in the hands of the Ethiopian Defense Forces (EDF), Shačbia outwitted EPRDF/TPLF in the legal and diplomatic international forra." By Tseggai Mebrahtu "The fact that this clique has accepted the possible elimination of Ethiopia from existence by legalising secession (whereas no such Constitution exists in the world) should be seen from angle of their long term objective of strengthening Eritrea at the expense of Ethiopia; and if necessary by transforming the latter into an African Yugoslavia." "The Border Commission’s accusation that Ethiopia has jeopardised peace clearly shows how much it wants to overstep its stated mandate as an ad hoc body. The Commission’s mission, as itself has stated repeatedly, is to interpret the terms of reference determined by the “parties”. It does not have any right to talk about peace or war not to mention that it is not competent to decide if peace is jeopardised or not. As far as we know, the jurisdiction to determine whether peace is jeopardised or not belongs to the United Nations Security Council as is enshrined in the United Nations Charter." "It is true that “EPRDF/TPLF” have been waging a relentless war on Ethiopia. But now, as some far-sighted Ethiopians have warned us, it is not impossible that “EPRDF/TPLF” may be preparing to wage war on Eritrea by sacrificing Ethiopians for the third time to liberate the Eritrean people from the inhuman rule of the their president so that they will be in a more comfortable position to bleed and exploit Ethiopia. For “EPRDF/TPLF” leaders, nothing is too much for Eritrea even that means the death of Ethiopia."[Source:EthioMedia.com] By Berhe W. Gabriel The Ethiopian Defense Forces were "deep" inside Eritrean territory. Eritrea's central command at Barentu has collapsed. Tesenei was brought under control as Eritreans continued to flee Mendefera and Dekemhare, having seen Shaebia being hotly pursued everywhere. BBC had to say this about the humiliating defeat Eritrea was enduring when Ethiopia launched its final offensive: ... By Sisay Haile-Selassie, Former Radio Ethiopia Journalist now in Canada
4.67:The qualification as to the northern section relates
to Tserona. In its reply, Ethiopia stated that a number of specific places
mentioned by Eritrea as the location of incidents on which Eritrea was relying
were irrelevant, since they were in any event mostly in Eritrea. The words used by Ethiopia were that "Fort Cadorna, Monoxeito, Guna Guna
and Tserona' were " mostly…undisputed Eritrean." While Monoxeito and Guna Guna are on the Eritrean side of the Treaty line
as determined by the Commission, the Commission finds that, on the basis of the
evidence before it, Tserona and Fort Cadorna are not.

The Monitor: "The real problem is that the Sharia law has remained conservative, and mostly barbaric, despite the fact that religion and the law are as dynamic as society itself. Religion and law are supposed to guide society and to enable human beings to live in harmony. Therefore, when these two respected institutions instead connive to bring about injustice and violation of human rights, we might as well say they work to bring insanity in society." |
